Faces of Brazilian Indigenous People Projected Onto Amazon Rainforest

To spread awareness of the massive deforestation ravaging the Amazon rainforest, French photographer Philippe Echaroux projected the portraits of indigenous Brazilians onto tree canopies in his latest project, “The Blood Forest”. This is the world’s first such forest street art.

The projected images of the Brazilian SuruĂ tribe, led by Chief Almir Surui Narayamoga, help demonstrate the deep connection between the rainforest and its inhabitants, acknowledging the need to preserve their home and ensure the longevity of the forest. The photos used are taken of the members of the tribe that have been working to replant and protect their section of the rainforest.
