3. Bride-to-Be Takes Car Selfie, Crashes Minutes Later
Bride-to-be Colette Moreno, 26, died in a car crash on her way to her pre-wedding party after taking this carefree selfie of her and the driver, Ashley Theobald. Just a few minutes later, Moreno’s asthma starting acting up due to traffic fumes, so Theobald drove past a truck that was in front of them.
“We both thought [the road] was clear and there was a hill that neither one of us saw,” Theobald said. As soon as she switched lanes, an oncoming truck sped toward them, and as she swerved to get out of its way, it swerved in their direction as well. Moreno died in the ensuing crash. She left behind her five-year-old son and her devastated fiance Jesse Arcobasso.
“I’ve never had a friend like her. I won’t ever have a friend like her,” Theobald, who suffered minor injuries, said.
