One of the perks of being an astronaut is that you get to be, well, in space, and experience awesome views that most of us never get to see in this lifetime. Geophysicist Alexander Gerst, one of six astronauts currently on board the International Space Station, photographs our planet 205 miles below him and shares them on Flickr.
Sometimes, he even achieves amazing shots like these cloud shadow formations. The shadows appear extremely dramatic from space, stretching for miles into the distance.
